چکیده
Background: We aimed to evaluate the utility of C1 esterase inhibitor, squamous cell carcinoma antigen, and complements C3 C4 in prediction fresh frozen plasma transfusion requirements postpartum hemorrhage characterize involvement amniotic fluid embolism pathophysiology hemorrhage. Methods: In this single-centered prospective observational study, consecutive patients with were evaluated for C4. analyzed relationship between volume above-mentioned biomarkers. The interaction low inhibitor antigen respect was analyzed. Results: analysis included 132 univariate analysis, (correlation coefficient: –0.368, p < 0.001), –0.376, 0.001) –0.291, negatively correlated volume. multivariate only an independent factor associated (regression –0.173, = 0.022). had highest area under curve (0.843) cut-off value (80 mg/dL) ≥15 units. higher high analysis. Conclusions: Measuring may allow assessment extent anaphylactoid reaction requirement transfusion.

although amniotic fluid embolism is a rare event, but it is a tragic event. this kind of embolism occurs in 1 per 20,000 to 30,000 births with 86% maternal mortality rate in the united states. amniotic fluid embolism is in charge of near 10-15% of all maternal deaths. this article reflects the experiences of a nurse midwife encountered with a maternal and neonatal death due to an amniotic fluid...
متن کاملCase scenario: amniotic fluid embolism.
A MNIOTIC fluid embolism (AFE) is a rare but potentially catastrophic obstetric emergency. Despite earlier recognition and aggressive treatment, morbidity and mortality rates remain high. An estimated 5–15% of all maternal deaths in Western countries are due to AFE. Recent retrospective reviews of population-based hospital databases in Canada and the United States found AFE incidences of 6.1–7....

Weinberg et al. (1) first showed in 1998 that an infusion of a soybean oil emulsion normally used as a total parenteral nutrition solution could prevent (by pretreatment) or improve resuscitation from cardiovascular collapse caused by severe bupivacaine overdose in the intact, anesthetized rat. Subsequent studies from the same laboratory confirmed these findings in isolated rat heart (2) and an...

Objective: Amniotic fluid embolism (AFE) is a catastrophic syndrome. The amniotic fluid (AF)-specific antigens might be assessed in maternal serum when these proteins abruptly enter maternal circulation. The aims of this study were 1) to review a conventional marker for diagnosis of AFE, and 2) to find AF-specific proteins. Study design: This article reviews the English language literature for ...
